This is from a training done by Troy Dooley. He was a speaker at the 2015 Plexus Convention. He is a very successful multi-level marketer and has dubbed himself the "Beachside CEO."
8 Pillars of Success:
1. CLARITY
- People trust a clear message.
- Make sure that you're taking the time to listen to your customers.
- Make sure you are always being completely transparent.
To Do: Craft a purpose statement to keep you on track.
2. COMPASSION
- People put faith in people who help people beyond themselves.
- Are you listening to your team needs? Are you putting customer needs above your own?
To Do: Seek out team members who you can lend a hand to.
3. CHARACTER
- What happens when no one is watching?
- People notice people who do what's right.
- Make sure you're being a team leader that people want to look up to.
To Do: Identify your top five values in life.
4. COMPETENCY
- You have to know your business.
- You need to be a coach...coaches don't sugar coat, they tell you what to do and how to do it (just make sure you're using that compassion!)
- Utilize a mentor! You can't know everything!
To Do: Find a mentor and USE them!
5. COMMITMENT
- You can mess up, you're allowed, but you must stay committed.
- If the product isn't working for someone, ask questions, but stand by your product.
- Look at your team and ask if you are all in together!
- Stick it out and you'll be successful. "The grass may look greener somewhere else, but it is just as hard to mow!"
6. CONNECTION
- Connect with your customers and your team with love.
- If you want to build success you must love your people.
- Love your team and you'll build a team that will love you.
- Credit success to your team and never blame them for failure. You're the professional, it is your responsibility to connect and find out what's wrong.
To To: Make a commitment to personally connect with your team for 90 days.
7. CONTRIBUTION
- Always give back.
- Find something that you can contribute to and do it with gratefulness.
8. CONSISTENCY
- Your actions, your words, everything must be consistent.
- Make sure your work ethic follows this too.
To Do: Examine yourself and determine if you're being consistent.
